    Community Helped Develop 2014-2016 Priorities

In 2013 Heartland Visioning held 21 community meetings all around Topeka and Shawnee County. Building off our massive community meetings five years earlier (read the 2008 strategic plan here) Heartland Visioning used the comments and feedback provided by citizens of Topeka and Shawnee County to help develop our 2014-2016 priorities.

Did you know development of NOTO came directly out of our Steering Committee?

During the 2008 community meetings, our citizens expressed a desire for the development of an arts district. This idea was included in our 2008 Strategic Plan and our Steering Committee Volunteers formed NOTO, vibrant arts district in North Topeka. Head over and check out the business and see some cool art on a First Friday Art walk.

Heartland Visioning is comprised of volunteers.

It is the dedication from our amazing volunteers that have brought success into projects such as NOTO and the coordination of the Downtown Redevelopment. They have also provided endless opportunities for collaboration with multiple community initiatives. See who serve on our Management Committee and Steering Committee.
